On the road again
Leaving Austra, we had a long bus day on the way to Venice - a good day to catch up on blogging and napping.
The rest areas in each country are different and interesting. In Germany we kept 50 or 70 cents (in euros) handy to pay the entrance fee to the public restrooms. Then you get a ticket of equal value to spend in their shop. In Italy, there's no charge for the bathroom, but they're located in a large store full of tempting items they hope you will buy.
Resting at the Egna town fountain. Most Italian towns have a free water source where you can fill up your water bottle, tea kettle or soup pot.Egna is in the mountainous South Tyrol region of Europe. People in the region speak either German or Italian, or both, and the town has a German name as well: Neumarkt
Lunch in Egna was a bit heavy for the heat. We had entered the region of the Aperol Spritz, but Mary's sure seemed to be regular vino blanco. We realized we'd have to brush up on our Italian.
And it's on to Venezia!

Have an extra glass of that lovely white wine for me Mary!!
