Adventures in Seafood: from Kardamyli to Monemvasia
Friday, June 2 Day 7 of the tour Between Kardamyli and Monemvasia This is red mullet, fresh from the sea and apparently deep fried. More on this shortly. Friday started with Dafni's guided walk through Kardamyli (Mary's previous post) before we loaded up to head back to the mountains. The Mani region of Greece is mostly mountainous and considered even more remote than other parts of Greece. It's the middle finger reaching down towards the Mediterranean Sea. This map was proudly displayed on the wall of a remote coffee shop we visited for a pit stop and very thick coffee. ("H"in the Greek alphabet makes an "ee" sound).
