The best windmill tourist trap
Everyone knows I love me a good tourist trap. Zaansche Schans - in the town of Zaandam - had everything we could want. Charming historical homes. Mostly-not-tacky gift shops with the local flair. Scenic views along the river. Hot croissants from a roadside stand. Demonstrations!

Your photography is great - the commentary witty - keep it coming!
ReplyDeleteHi, it’s Sue!! Looks so beautiful there! Even if it’s a tourist trap! So good to see your big smiles! Continue to enjoy every minute!
ReplyDeleteThanks Laura and Sue!
ReplyDeleteIs there a significance to all of the green paint? Wondering if it's a theme just at that historical site or a more common practice throughout Amsterdam.
ReplyDeleteWe asked Dimitri, our guide, a few days later. He didn't know for sure but said the town might have required that color at one time. Dark painted houses are very comon in the area, but not necessarily green.
